Scarlett Lawrence – Domestic Life

Inspired by themes of isolation, melancholy, privacy, sanctuary and secrecy, my C2 project took a very personal and meaningful route. In this project I was keen to develop my oil painting skills by focusing on a more muted colour palette that would reflect a sombre and introspective mood. My final outcome, created in the 15 hours, juxtaposes a recognisable domestic setting with a scene somewhat confusing to the audience.
