Welcome to our online exhibition showcasing the exceptional work of the Class of 2025.
This collection highlights the achievements of six outstanding students whose artistic journeys were profoundly shaped by the global pandemic, which, remarkably, occurred over five years ago. 5 years on, they have emerged with incredible resilience, maturity, and artistic growth.
Their creativity, conceptual depth, and technical skill speak to their perseverance and adaptability. It has been an honor to work with each of them, nurturing their artistic talents.
We invite you to explore their work and celebrate the remarkable achievements they have made.
Enjoy the exhibition.

AQA A-level Art and Design – Component 1: Personal Investigation
Component 1 is a major part of the A-level Art and Design course. It is a personal project that students develop over time, based on a theme or idea of their choice. This component allows students to explore their own interests, experiment with different materials, and develop their skills in areas such as drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, or digital media.
Overall, this component encourages independent thinking, creativity, and personal expression, skills that are valuable far beyond the art classroom.
AQA A-level Art, Craft and Design – Component 2: Externally Set Assignment
Component 2 is the second major part of the A-level Art, Craft and Design course. It’s a controlled assessment that focuses on a set theme provided by AQA. Students are given a choice of starting points related to the theme, and they must use these prompts to create their own personal response.
Here’s what the component involves:
-
Preparation period – Students have a set time (usually about 8 weeks) to research, experiment, and develop ideas for their final piece. During this time, they build up a portfolio of sketches, plans, and studies, all reflecting their individual creative process.
-
15-hour exam – At the end of the preparation period, students complete a 15-hour supervised exam where they produce their final artwork. This is done in one block of time and demonstrates their ability to bring their ideas to life under exam conditions.
This component tests how well students can work independently, solve creative problems, and apply technical skills to a final piece. It’s an opportunity for students to showcase everything they’ve learned throughout the course.
